The Wall Street Journal has been voted one of the top news sources for students. The unbiased reporting of current events is essential to the educational process, and the Journal is well-known for its accuracy. The Journal's student news readership program makes it easy to get students involved in current events. It is also an affordable way for students to subscribe to a respected news source.

Student news readership programme

The Wall Street Journal student newspaper readership program is open to young people interested in the paper's reporting and articles. Barron's, Far Eastern Economic Review and SmartMoney are the newspaper's sister publications. Students can sign up for a 1-year subscription which costs $15 per annum.

The Student Affairs budget sponsors the program, which provides digital subscriptions for students to the New York Times or Wall Street Journal. The new subscription program offers podcasts and videos. The Commonwealth campuses have been added to the subscription program. While the printed newspaper will still be available during the academic year, it will eventually go completely digital.

UT Permian Basin membership

Students and alumni of UT Permian Basin can benefit from a special Wall Street Journal membership. This subscription will also be available to students who set up their UTPB Email accounts. The College of Business is responsible for the subscription.


The UT Permian Basin's men's tennis team features 15 players as well as a head coach. The conference will feature industry speakers, including Mitch Mamoulides - Midland and Delaware Basin Manager for Chevron; Chuck Yates - managing director of Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors LP; and Jefferson G. Parker - managing director at IberiaBank Corp. John Fund, an editor of Wall Street Journal, will also speak at the conference. Other speakers include Travis Stice, president of Diamondback Energy; Kyle M. Hammond, the CEO of FireWheel Energy; Bryan Sheffield, Parsley Energy; and Stan Weiner, director of NGL analytics at AES Water Solutions.

UT Permian Basin academic collaboration program with Wall Street Journal

The UT Permian Basin announced its partnership to the Wall Street Journal. Students from UTPB can now receive an exclusive subscription for the Wall Street Journal when they sign up for their UTPB email accounts. This partnership was made possible by the College of Business as well as the J. Conrad Dungan Library.

Students, nurses, as well as patients will all benefit from the partnership. Nursing students will also be able learn advanced techniques and the latest medical equipment thanks to this partnership. By combining two leading healthcare organizations, students will be able to gain real-world experience in a new, dynamic setting.
